What Can I Use Instead of a Yoga Brick?
In some cases, you might find yourself in a tricky situation in which your instructor instructs you to pick up your yoga brick, but you can’t find one sitting near you. This can usually happen when you try to practice your yoga poses at home and there is no yoga studio equipment laying around.
If you do not want to invest extra money in buying yoga bricks, there are lots of other alternatives which you can use in their place.
So, if you are practicing your yoga in Marianne Wells Yoga School or any other yoga related institution, here are some alternatives you can use in the place of yoga bricks.
Use Books
If you do not have yoga blocks to support your yoga pose at home, you can definitely use a book in its place. Many people use books in place of yoga blocks regularly. If you have more time, you can find the exactly sized book to mimic our yoga block.
If your book is strong enough, you can easily use it to support both your standing and sitting yoga poses regularly.
Use a Cardboard Box
If you have a few cardboard boxes laying around in your home, you can definitely use them as and alternative to yoga blocks. All you have to do is find the right size cardboard box, and you will be all set to go.
You can also cut a larger cardboard box and make a customized DIY yoga block for yourself. You should remember not to put too much weight in the yoga block to keep yourself comfortable.
Use a Yoga Mat
If you have a spare yoga mat, you can also roll it up and use it as a yoga block. However, since yoga mats come in different sizes and they cannot provide you with the same support as a yoga block, this should be used as your last resort.
